Cream Cheese Crescent Dessert
2 cans crescent rolls
2 pkg cream cheese softened
2 t vanilla
1-1/2 c sugar (divided)
2 t cinnamon
1/2 c butter
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease bottom of 9x13 pan well.
press seams together firmly. Mix softened cream cheese with 1 c sugar.
Add 2 t vanilla, mix again. Put mixture into pan. Add the other crescent rolls to the top. Mis 1/2 c sugar with the cinnamon. Bake 30 min or until set.
In a flash Toffee
35 saltine crackers
1 c butter
3/4 to 1 c packed brown sugar
1 c chocolate chips
1 c chopped pecans or almonds
Preheat oven to 375 degrees
Line 10 x 15" jelly roll pan with foil. Lay crackers in pan flat.
In microwave melt butter & brown sugar for 3 min. (will boil)
Then pour over crackers bake in oven for 10 min. Sprinkle with chocolate chips
and put back in oven for 2 min. Spread chocolate chips evenly. Add chopped nuts. Cool in the fridge.
Fry Bread
3 c buttermilk
1 c water
2 pk dry yeast
7-10 c flour, unbleached
1 t salt
3T sugar
2 eggs
1/4 pound butter melted
Mix 4 cup flour, salt and sugar together.
Combine milk with water and warm slightly.
Mix with dry ingredients, add the eggs,melted butter and yeast then the rest of
the flour (start with the total being 7 cups, the last time I made it I think I ended up with about 10 or so)
Knead until a good consistency, form into a ball.
Grease a large bowl and put the ball of dough into it. Cover with a damp cloth, put in a warm place and let rise to the top. (about double the size)
Punch down dough and let rise to the top again.
Tear off desired size, flatten and fry. Watch carefully so it doesn't overcook before you flip it.
